The official App of the "Museo dellOpera del Duomo" allows you to explore the masterpiece by Lorenzo Ghiberti, now available after a restoration that lasted 27 years.

You can see the Doors of Paradise and the individual tiles at very high resolution and appreciate all the elegance and finesse that are not visible to the naked eye.
You can discover the ten stories of the Old Testament condensed in the large square-shaped tiles in two ways:
- reading the detailed information of each tile and the individual episodes, in the section "Explore the stories"
- listening to the audio tour, in the "Admire the Doors"
By activating the "Fils Rouge" feature (available on tablet devices), you can navigate the most interesting details of the Doors and display other related specific details. You will learn where and how many times the same character occur within this masterpiece, get an overview of the wonderful architectural structures represented by Ghiberti, or find out all the details that refer to specific theological symbols.
The application also offers a short biography of Lorenzo Ghiberti, an historical overview of the Arts in Florence, namely about the Calimala merchants guild.
Finally, you can learn about the highlights of a long and complex restoration process in the relevant section.
